The results presented are based on questions asked in the national public health survey. The group of people with disabilities has been compiled following the questions about chronic illness, vision, hearing and mobility: Do you have any long-term illness, any problems following an accident, any reduced physical function, or any other long-term health problem? Those who answered 'yes' to this question, and responded 'yes, to a great extent' to the subsequent question: Does this condition mean that your ability to work is reduced or hinder you in your other day-to-day activities? - Can you see and make out regular text in a newspaper without difficulty? Those who responded 'no' (not even with glasses) to the question: - Can you hear what is being said in a conversation between several people without difficulty? Those who responded 'no' (not even with a hearing aid) to the question: – People with mobility problems: Those who cannot climb stairs without difficulty, cannot take a short walk (approximately 5 minutes) at a somewhat brisk pace, need aids or the help of another person to move about outdoors. The Public Health Agency of Sweden defines people who belong to one or more of these four categories as having a disability.
