Indicator definition: Liters of pure alcohol (100 %) per inhabitant aged 15 and above. Unregistered alcohol purchase comprises alcohol imported during travel abroad, purchase of smuggled alcohol, home-made alcoholic beverages (including home-distilled spirits) and the purchase of alcohol on the Internet. At the turn of the half-year of 2013, certain changes were made to the methods used in the Monitor surveys. The age interval in the sample changed from 16–80 years to 17–84 years, however the changes have impacted the results to a small degree, which entails that the reported data is comparable over time. In 2003 the non-response rate was 50% and thereafter it increased to 74% in 2016/17. Since then a decline has occurred and in 2021 the non-respons rate was 66 %.
