Indicator definition: Percentage (%) of the population (16–84 years or 16 years and older) that uses tobacco or nicotine snuff daily, sometimes or previously used. Percentage reported by age, gender and years. Response rate for the Swedish National Public Health Survey: 2004 (60,8 %), 2005 (60,3 %), 2006 (60,1 %), 2007 (57,5 %), 2008 (55,7 %), 2009 (52,1 %), 2010 (50,6 %), 2011 (49 %), 2012 (49,4 %), 2013 (48,8 %), 2014 (48,1 %), 2015 (48,8 %), 2016 (47,0 %), 2018 (42,1 %), 2020 (42,3 %), 2021 (44,1 %), 2022 (37,9 %), 2024 (39,4 %). From 2016, the survey is conducted every two years. In 2021, an extra round of the survey was conducted due to the ongoing corona pandemic.
