As of 2024, all the statistics are included in Sweden's official statistics (SOS). In 2022 only some of the statistics were included as official statistics. Statistics for the years before 2022 were produced according to similar standards but do not have a declaration of quality. The results presented are based on questions asked in the national public health survey: Do you ever avoid going out alone for fear of being assaulted, robbed, or otherwise abused? In the past 12 months, have you ever been subjected to physical violence? In the past 12 months, have you been subjected to a threat or threats of violence that made you afraid? Do you have someone you can share your innermost feelings with, and confide in? Can you get help from someone or some if you have practical problems or are ill? In general, do you think that people can be trusted? In the past three months, have you been treated in a way that has left you feeling victimised? Have you participated in any of the following activities in the past 12 months?: a) Study circle or course at your workplace or in your free time b)Trade union meeting or other association meeting c) Theatre or cinema visit d) Art gallery or museum visit e) Religious gathering f) Sporting event g) Written a blog or a letter to the editor of a newspaper or periodical h) Protest/demonstration of some kind i) Public event e.g., dance event, fair or similar j) Large family reunion k) Private party l) Followed online social media m) Written a post, participated in discussions, or played games with others online n) None of the above The national public health survey is a sample survey of the country's population aged 16 and older. The population aged 16 to 84 are covered before 2021.
