Obs:

The statistics are included in Sweden's official statistics on notifiable communicable diseases from the reference year 2023. Statistics for previous years (2010-2022) are presented jointly with the official statistics, but the quality of these statistics has not been reported. For more information about the quality of the statistics, please refer to the 'Kvalitetsdeklaration'
The data underlying both the official statistics and the statistics prior to 2023 are collected from Sminet and processed in the same manner, which ensures comparability of the statistics from that perspective. However, several factors may, to varying degrees, influence the extent to which cases are reported to Sminet, thereby affecting comparability over time. The measure Mean number of reported cases (previous 5 and 10 years, respectively) refers to the mean number of cases per week for the previous five- and ten-year period, respectively. For example, for the reference year 2023, the previous period is 2018-2022 and 2013-2022, respectively. Sex refers to legal sex, i.e., the sex of the case as registered in the population register, passport, or ID. Week refers to calendar week. At the turn of the year, a calendar week can contain days from both the new and the previous year.
