Statistikredovisning för 2021 och framåt har nationella vaccinationsregistret (NVR) som datakälla. Den nya statistiken är inte jämförbar med den tidigare som samlats in på annat sätt. Detta beror framför allt på viss underrapportering lokalt till NVR, framför allt av tekniska orsaker, men även på att vaccinationer som barn fått i andra länder inte finns registrerade i NVR. Därför blir vaccinationstäckningen enligt NVR något lägre än den faktiska.
